Taller
13 is a design workshop founded in 1993 by Manuel de
Cisneros and Héctor Carranza, both of whom studied art
in the Rufino Tamayo Workshop and design at the Oaxaca Institute
of Graphic Arts, besides working in the Systems and Design Laboratory
in Mexico City. Their work in the city of Oaxaca has focused mainly
on editorial and poster design for artistic and cultural institutions
including the Museum of Contemporary Art in that city, the Oaxaca
Institute of Graphic, the Alvarez Bravo Photography Center, the
Editorial Fund, the Ethnobotanical Garden at the Santo Domingo
Cultural Center, the Francisco de Burgoa Library and the Oaxacan
Institute of Culture. They have designed the catalogues of local
and international artists for some of the most prestigious galleries
of Oaxaca. Their work has been published in the book Diseñadores
Gráficos Mexicanos and in the magazine Communication Arts.
